If you are facing slow downloading speeds for Microsoft Store on Windows 10, then this post will help increase download speeds for Windows Store apps. Aug 02, 2015  I recently downloaded Windows 10 and am having awful download speeds compared to what they were with Windows 7. With Windows 7 I averaged about 9.8MB/s. With Windows 10 I am getting 400KB/s max. At one point after restarting steam, the download went all the way up to 1024KB/S, but only for about 5.

Microsoft Store is turning to be the hub for applications for Windows 10 devices. It even serves as a source for Movies and TV, Books, buying hardware directly from Microsoft and more. While downloading is usually smooth, if you are facing slow download speeds for Microsoft Store, we recommend following our solutions to see if it fixes it for you.

There can be many reasons for the slow download experience. It includes issues with Microsoft Store app, enforced speed limiter on the application, corrupted Microsoft Store cache, Windows Updates running in the background, and so on.

Slow download speeds for Microsoft Store

We can use the following methods to increase download speeds in the Microsoft Store on Windows 10:

  1. Reset the Microsoft Store cache.
  2. Set the bandwidth limit for downloads.
  3. Re-register the Microsoft Store app using Powershell.

Make sure you have a stable internet connection to download apps and games. Also, check if an update or massive download is already in progress. If that’s the case, you should wait for it to complete.

1] Reset the Microsoft Store cache

Reset the Microsoft Store using the Windows 10 Settings App and check if that fixes your issues. Many a time, the cache itself causes problems. If you like to use the command prompt, use the wsreset command to clear Microsoft Store app cache.

2] Set the bandwidth limit for downloads

  • Use the WINKEY + I combo to open the Windows 10 Settings App.
  • Navigate to Update and Security > Windows Update.
  • On the right side panel, select the option that says Advanced options.
  • Then select Delivery Optimization.

Under the section of Download settings, check the box for Limit how much bandwidth is used for downloading updates in the background and slide the slider to 100%.

3] Re-register the Microsoft Store app using Powershell

Download 3ds emulator with bios. Open Windows Powershell with Administrator level rights. Click on Yes for the UAC or User Account Control prompt that you get. Once it is open, type in the following command to re-register the Microsoft Store appand then hit Enter.

Let the process complete and then check if your issue is fixed or not.

Let us know if this helped increase download speeds in the Microsoft Store on Windows 10.
